Held at Lake Skinner each June, the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival is one of the area's most notable events, drawing people from all over to Temecula. Started in 1984, the festival grew to include the wine tasting in the early 1990s. Today visitors can enjoy a balloon flight, glass or bottle of wine, vendors, live entertainment, a kids area and much more. Those interested in going up for a balloon ride must contact the festival in advance to reserve a spot.

The Temecula International Film Festival showcases music and film and offers workshops, awards and special events. Established in 1995, this festival presently screens more than 700 films originating from approximately 20 countries. It runs annually in the middle of each September.
