An easy drive to many of California's beach destinations and major centers, Temecula has a myriad of attractions of its own to entice guests. Situated in Temecula Valley, the area sports dozens of vineyards, many of which offer tastings and tours. Grapeline Wine Country Shuttle provides a convenient service for wine lovers, taking people from vineyard to vineyard for a day of wine sampling. Sightseeing above the land is another popular pastime which is offered in a number of ways, through hot air balloon rides, air plane tours and sky diving trips. Each June, the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival combines the area's celebrated pastimes and draws spectators from around the world to visit. Rich in history, the city celebrates its past daily in Old Town Tememcula, where shops and restaurants are found inside restored buildings from the 1800s. The Temecula Valley Museum is also on hand to teach people about the local history.
